As always, our upcoming release will debut a handful of changes that we've strategically developed with our clients' needs, requests, and best interests in mind. We will be using MerusCase Insider to provide previews and demonstrations of these new features, and we welcome your feedback in the Comments section below each post.
Included in the Version 4.0.9 update will be a minor change to our PDF invoice structure: we'll be separating Services (billable time, etc.) from Expenses (copies, access fees, supplies, etc.) across paper/print invoices.
Here is a sample invoice in the new format:
We are on-schedule to release Version 4.0.9 in 3-4 weeks, so that this new feature will be ready for use in your September billing cycle.
To facilitate seamless integration into this new format, we are introducing a new Ledger Type called "Expense – Item" that will allow you to enter Units (e.g. Copies or Mileage) and Unit Cost (e.g. $.10/copy or $.56/mile). The following LEDES fields will auto-populate respectively with your Units and Unit Cost entries:
