We're glad to start the new year 2014 off on the right foot and a brand new release. 

You will find the following improvements and fixes to known issues.

New Support for Archived Cases:  When you navigate to Cases in Merus, you will notice a new tab labeled "Archived." This is where you will be able to quickly find and access all those cases that have a status set to "archived." 

Every time you set the status of a case to "archived," the case will be moved to this new "Archived" area in the application, and out of your Cases list. 

These archived cases will also be removed from the list of cases in auto-completer that are available for you to choose from when performing actions such as composing a case message, creating a case task, or billing time. Please note that you can still perform these case-specific actions for any of your archived cases, but you need to be working inside the case first.

If you wish to, you can switch an archived case to any other status and it will move back to the Cases area and out of the Archived tab.

Addition of Summary Table to PDF Invoices:  When you generate a PDF version of your invoices, you will notice that we've added a new summary table at the bottom, right after the ledger items. 

This summary table details the Rates, Hours and Fees of each user billing in the ledger items on the invoice and also includes non-billable items.

As usual, and for your convenience, you can opt out from displaying this summary in your PDF invoices by setting your preference to "Hide the Summary Table on PDF Invoices", under Firm(Systemwide Preferences).

You will also notice an overall improvement to the way the information is organized and presented in the invoice.

Improvements to Uploads: We have revamped the whole process of uploading files to Merus to make it faster, and more reliable under heavy loads. We've also made significant improvements to the way we parse and index your uploaded files to make searching even easier for all kinds of documents.

Download Template Archive: You can download a zip file with all your custom templates with the new Template Archive feature. Find it when you navigate to Templates inside any case. 

Other Refinements:

• Improved support for users syncing their MerusCase calendar from Android devices.
• Improved support for display of small (up to 128 Kb) inline images, such as logos, inside messages.
• Fixed known issue for message deletion in IMAP accounts. Deleted messages were showing up again in Inbox on subsequent sync.
• Fixed known issue for signatures in messages. Signature was not added to the message when setting the user preference to signature on new messages only.
• Improvements to ledes invoices exports.
• Re-index of documents when attached to a case. This ensures the document has the right meta-data.
