This morning, as I was giving a web-based training on MerusCase to a newly deployed client, in response to me asking if she had any questions, my trainee stated that MerusCase is an "intuitive system" and that she felt comfortable using the practice management system thus far. This was the trainee's second 1-hour session.
Is Merus Intuitive?
Yes,
and no. Confusing? A little! 0:)
On one hand, I wholeheartedly agree - Merus is designed to streamline a law firm's workflow and to empower users through a lightening quick and user friendly interface. Merus should be easy to use and "intuitive". When I'm training someone on the basics of Merus, I too feel that it's intuitive.
On the other hand, part of me also disagrees. Although Merus is user friendly and the interface allows you to quickly filter for anything you're looking for, practicing law is
hard, so fully knowing everything Merus has to offer is
hard.
Every week, I'll hear a trainer or account exec. for Merus state that they "didn't know that xyz feature existed" or that they didn't realize this xyz feature could be customized. I myself say it too. Merus is so robust that there are very few people (if any other than the principal engineer) who know all of the features Merus has to offer.
Why should I read "Feature Focus" Posts?
Merus is so rich in features and capabilities that we all can't keep up. Our
help articles and our inline Active Help within the application can't keep up. This blog can't keep up! However, going forward, I pledge to try.
In the past, our blogs posts have included some "feature focus" type entries, however, going forward, we at Merus would like to highlight features from releases as well as features that exist that never got an article so that everyone (both current and new users) can come here and learn more about their firm's cloud-based system.
So stay tuned for more Feature Focus articles to come. Together we'll all be Merus experts!
