Savvy Support: Using a Custom Header on Invoices

Important Notes

Before we show you how to upload a custom header for your invoices, here are a few things you should know:

  • You must have the "Power User with Accounting" or "Firm Administrator" access levels in order to utilize the upload tool.
  • Headers must be in PDF format.
  • If you want to change your header, you cannot edit it within MerusCase. Instead, you will need to upload and replace the header. You can do so by following the steps listed below.
  • Your header must follow the header format in order for it to populate your invoices correctly. Red arrows in the figure below indicate the areas you need to avoid as you create your invoice header.
Follow the header format to populate your invoices correctly.

How to Upload Your Custom Invoice Header

In order to use a custom header for your invoices, follow these four simple steps:

  1. From the MerusCase main menu, hover over "Documents" and click on "Upload Tool."
  2. Click on the large file folder to find and select the document you want to upload. Pro-tip: You can also drag-and-drop your PDF file into the folder.
  3. Under "Upload Type" click on the drop-down menu and select "Invoice Template."
  4. Click "Upload". Once, uploaded, all PDFs of invoices generated in Merus will have your firm's custom header.
