1. Case Progress

Like they say, a picture is worth a 1,000 words. This graphic, on the other hand, is worth 2,000.

In MerusCase 5.0, each of your cases will have a timeline like the one pictured above on its corresponding Case Details screen. This feature will allow you to track exactly where you are in any given case: how far along you are, how long you've been where you are, when you're expecting to enter a new phase, and so on.

This timeline is 100% customizable to you, your firm, and your case. At any point in time, you can edit which phases should be on your timeline and the dates attached to the phases. No longer will you be checking back at your calendar, or trying to remember what phase XYZ case is on. You can lay your weary head to rest. Or tackle the other tasks on your to-do list. We've got this.

2. Billing Rules

As a companion to our fancy Case Progress bar, we have also built in Billing Rules to help guide your firm's billing practices. This feature helps you put in place billing regulations or restrictions.

Suppose you want to restrict the number of hours per day a someone can work on a certain case. You can do that with the Billing Rules feature. Or, suppose you want to limit the number of hours per phase. You can do that too. Or, maybe your client hates one of the attorneys, Felicia (sorry Felicia), and Felicia isn't supposed to work on that client's cases. Insert Billing Rule and prest-o change-o, bye Felicia, you can't bill on this case anymore. 

This Billing Rules feature ensures that your firm can streamline its time and efforts, and that you aren't stuck undoing, redoing, or explaining anything to an upset client or partner. Not fun.

3. Searchable Email 

So you're doing some legal stuff, maybe putting together an Exhibit List, and you're trying to find a specific email from Joe Schmo about something specific, let's say marbles, in a certain case. The problem is that you have 500 emails in that case, and 300 of them are from Joe. You don't want to have to scour 300 emails for the word "marbles" because that does not sound like a good use of your time. You wish that there was some way you could just type in "marbles" in a search bar and have the right email pop up. 

Wishes can come true. In 5.0, MerusCase has now made email bodies searchable. Type "marbles" in the Search Case Documents bar, and you'll find your marbles right when you need them.
